EVENT Protest the O’Farrell Government’s ineffective & unfair mandatory sentencing laws & arbitrary lockouts

The O’Farrell Government has not consulted on these laws and wants to push them through proper scrutiny.

These laws:

–        Won’t work to address the causes of alcohol fuelled violence

–        Will see thousands of people locked up each year for minor offenses at enormous social & economic cost  (mandatory sentencing is proven not to reduce crime, and to unfairly target vulnerable groups)

–        Won’t help people get home safely or easily (shuttle buses from Kings Cross to Town Hall won’t get people home, nor will closing bars at taxi changeover times)

–        Will increase conflicts on our streets (with people locked out en masse)

Ensure that politicians hear your voice.

Join us at 1pm on 30 January 2014 outside NSW Parliament on the day these laws will be considered.
