We’ve had some beautiful walking weather lately, with lovely clear crisp days perfect for getting out on the trail.

Our next few walks have had a great response already, so get your RSVP in soon if you’re keen in coming along. The Springwood walk is one of our longer planned walks this year at just over 9 kilometres, while the Narrabeen lakes walk is on concrete paths and boardwalk so a really good access option for people who have limited mobility, or even for kids to bring their bikes or scooters.

We try make sure over half of planned walks have good public transport links, and 2 of our next 3 walks satisfy this nicely.

  • Sunday 13 August Hawkesbury Vale of Avoca lookout

Moderately easy walking fire trail taking in nearby ridges, sheer cliffs and views across to the Lower Grose River. Walk in the treetops of temperate rainforest enjoying views of Red Gums, Coachwoods, Water Gums and Grey Myrtle.

  • Sunday 20 August Sassafras Gully and Fairy Dell Walk, Springwood Blue Mountains National Park

The Sassafras Gully loop track drops down from Springwood into rich gullies, past waterfalls and through dense greenery. At the base of the valley the walk turns and heads back along the picturesque Fairy Dell Track.

  • Sunday 17 September Narrabeen lakes loop walk

Completely accessible easy going walk around picturesque Narrabeen Lake, abundant bird life on view and sparkling water from every aspect.

For the diary:

  • Sunday 8 October Roseville to Macquarie Park Great North Walk
  • Sunday 29 October Wolli Creek Bexley to Hurlstone Park

Just as a reminder, all of our walks have a limited number of RSVPs that we can accept. That is both to maximise your safety and enjoyment, and minimise our impact on the bush. So please get your RSVPs in early to david.shoebridge@parliament.nsw.gov.au so you don’t miss out.
