Aboriginal justice and Armidale Council’s attempted media gag are on the agenda for Greens MP David Shoebridge’s trip to New England next week.

David has been working closely with the families of Mark Haines and Stephen Smith, two young Aboriginal men who died in the region in tragically similar circumstances and who’s murders have never been solved.

David will also be meeting with Armidale Greens Councillor Dorothy Robinson to discuss the proposed changes to Armidale Council’s media policy that would set a dangerous precedent of gagging public dissent from councillors.

David will be in Tamworth, Armidale and the broader New England region from 7th-9th June. Further comment and a more specific itinerary available on request.
