As the Coalition persists with an undemocratic forced amalgamation agenda, we think it’s time undertake an independent, fair and impartial assessment of how Paul Toole stacks up as Local Government Minister.
Local councils are currently having to prove that they are ‘Fit for the Future’ against arbitrary targets, benchmarks and thresholds set by Minister Toole.
We are consulting and want to hear from you on the methodology that should be used to assess whether Minister Toole is ‘Fit for the Future’.
Should we be assessing the Minister’s scale and capacity? What about his efficiency and sustainability? What type of business case should the Minister be presenting?
Our role is to consider proposals independently and ensure a consistent, fair and impartial assessment of the Minister. The survey below explains our proposed methodology to assess the Minister’s ‘fitness’.
We are forwarding the draft ‘fitness’ methodology to the Minister’s office on Friday 25 September 2015. Responses on the proposed methodology will be received from the Minister and the public until Tuesday 29 September 2015 at 5pm.
We will carefully consider the responses until 10am on Wednesday 30 September 2015 when the final methodology and survey will be released. Our final report containing our assessment findings is due Friday 2 October 2015.
