We work on a wide range of campaigns – the drop down menu here has a selection of currently active campaigns initiated by the office.
Our work is guided by Greens members and groups, and our work with First Nations people, community groups and individuals. If there’s something within our portfolio areas that you think we could work with you on please get in touch at [email protected]
We are happy to help prepare and present petitions in Parliament, ask questions or seek information through Parliamentary channels as well as organising seminars, protests and help groups with lobbying local MPs and the Government.
Greens campaigns have a strong track record of success here in NSW with significant wins achieved for campaigns our office has worked on in 2020 including:
We supported Aboriginal activists, families and communities making sure the Black Lives Matter Rally attended by tens of thousands went ahead. We worked to gain Government and Opposition support to establish a parliamentary inquiry into black deaths in custody, the first step to make sure deaths are independently investigated.
We have had some major legislative wins, pushing meaningful reform of the building industry and changes to worker compensation to cover workers for COVID-19 through Parliament.
We blocked the Government’s attempt to cut the pay of some 400,000 plus public sector workers in NSW because we need more money in the pockets of working people during a recession, not less.
We worked with activists and local communities on the growing campaign to stop native forest logging – winning a temporary halt to logging of precious unburnt bushland in Manyana.
We worked to gain Government and Opposition support to establish a parliamentary inquiry into black deaths in custody, the first step to make sure deaths are independently investigated.
